Significant progress has been made on the Keshet Modiin project, the 2.5 km railway connection between the Modiin train stations and the express train to Jerusalem. On March 11, the eastern part of the railway bridge will be built and join the western part that was already built. For the safety of the workers and passersby, the entrance and exit to Yishpro will be fewer lanes but won’t be closed completely and there will be changes to the traffic patterns in the area. The work and traffic changes will take place between March 11 and April 18, depending on the weather conditions. Drivers are asked to use alternative routes while the work is being done.
The connection of the city of Modiin to the fast train to Jerusalem is expected to improve service to residents of the city, with two trains in each direction during peak hours, with a travel time of 17 minutes between the Paatei Modiin train station and the “HaUmah” Station in Jerusalem.
As part of the project, work on the pedestrian bridge connecting the Paatei Modiin train station and Einav Center is almost complete. Construction on the bridge’s covering and stairs is currently underway and work to pave the train station parking lot is almost complete. This parking lot will have about 800 parking spaces.
