For the first time in the city, residents will be able to submit proposals to receive a financial grant for environmental-social projects aimed at promoting environmental protection. The Iriyah is accepting proposals for the program, which is currently being implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, which assists local authorities in promoting environmental education in the community. The proposals that are chosen will receive a monetary grant to implement them. A grant of 20,000 shekels to each group of residents whose environmental projects are chosen.
The criteria for submission of proposals include, among other things, threshold conditions that relate to a group of residents that has operated in the past two years and can present activities carried out during this period, as well as a proposal that incorporates physical-environmental aspects together with social-community aspects. In addition, the criteria include a program that can be maintained over a period of time (at least three years) and the commitment of the group members to operate the project for at least one year.
After the Iriyah has examined the proposals and selected the winning plans, they will be transferred to the Ministry of Environmental Protection for approval and will receive financial support for the construction of physical infrastructure, professional mentoring and services required for the planning and execution of the proposal.
