The Iriyah updated the parking enforcement policy for different areas around the city, including Paatei Modiin and the City Center that is currently under construction.
The Iriyah announced changes in the parking at Paatei Modiin. As of last week, parking is permitted on the northern side of the access road into the parking lot, parking with two wheels on the sidewalk (the only place in the city where parking like this is permitted). At the Paatei Modiin parking lot, which has 250 parking spots, the Iriyah will be enforcing the parking rules with an emphasis on enforcement against drivers parked in disabled parking spots, in a bus/taxi station, blocking the traffic lanes and in places that interfere with the maneuvering of buses and emergency vehicles. The Iriyah in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation is currently building another parking lot with around 800 parking spots for residents at Paatei Modiin.
The Iriyah will also be enforcing parking regulations in the City Center, on Sederot Dam Hamaccabim. Recently, many cars have been parking along the street even though it is an active building site, designated for construction vehicles only. Therefore, beginning this week, only construction vehicles will be allowed to enter. Any vehicle that parks there without permission will be fined between 100 and 500 shekels, depending on the offense.
