National Home Front exercises will take place next Tuesday, September 20 in cities across the country, including Modiin-Maccabim-Reut. There will sirens throughout the country in the morning, beginning at 11:05 that will last 10 minutes and will be heard in Modiin-Maccabim-Reut at 11:09. Another siren will be in the evening, at 19:05 throughout the country.
The exercise takes place once a year to prepare the Home Front Command (Pikud HaOref), local authorities and the different emergency services of the State of Israel for emergency situations and falling missiles. The exercise includes testing the sirens and practicing going to protected areas: in the morning at work and school and in the evening at individual homes. Residents of the city who do not hear the siren are asked to report it immediately to the Moked #106 or through the city’s app.
During the morning drill, there will be practice going to shelters in all the schools in the city. All the public shelters and protected areas in Maccabim and Reut will be open for residents who want to practice going to a protected area during the siren.
The municipality will conduct exercises with emergency and security services to practice scenarios of rockets falling in the city and other emergency situations. During the exercise the city's emergency headquarters and search and rescue unit will practice rescue from ruins at the training site.
