Due to the security situation, the city is working with the police to boost security in the city especially at the schools. The security department is in touch with the schools and kindergartens to provide guidance regarding security.

The city operates a security center at City Hall for the preschools with officers tasked to handle calls originating from the preschools. The security center is available to the teachers at all times by pushing a button that connects directly to it. In recent weeks, the city has increased activity of its security forces, including security patrols of the preschools.

This week the city decided that in addition to the existing security patrols, the security department will add more mobile units to patrol the city streets with an emphasis on educational institutions. Security forces have been increased at the city’s main roads, entrances to the city and the shopping centers. There is also increased security at educational institutions near construction sites.

The security department is assisting the police in identifying and preventing entry of illegal aliens into the city. They are conducting unannounced inspections of building sites and setting up checkpoints at the entrances to the city in the early morning hours. The city has sent a letter to all the builders in the city warning of increased enforcement of finding workers sleeping at building sites, which is against the law.

The security department is always available at 08-9726190 or the city center at 106 or the security center at 08-9726217
