Bowling Banter

The fourth season of the Modiin Monday Night Bowling Club is winding down, and new bowlers are always welcome to try their luck and skill on the lanes. The club is open to bowlers of all ages, but bowlers under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent. The remaining schedule for this season is: March 25, April 15 and May 13 at 20:30 (8:30 pm).

Running Rambles

Modiin area runners enjoyed success in the Jerusalem Marathon on March 15. In the main event, a 42.2 Km marathon, Arik Wokstock finished in 158th place out of 1495 runners overall, in a time of 3:42:03.  In the half marathon (21.1 Km), Avigdor Book did the course in 1:29:47 and he was in 58th place out of 5047 finishers. Shmuel Shantall sprinted the 10 Km course in 40:41, good for 28th place out of 8923 finishers. In the 5 Km event, 16-year-old Snir Heyman blazed the trail in 20:31 and was in 19th place out of 5912 finishers.

Soccer Sensation

Ben Sahar has scored 10 goals in 23 appearances for Hapoel Beer Sheva thus far in the 2019-19 season. In 32 games overall in all competitions this season, Ben Sahar has netted 11 goals and 3 assists.

Tennis Tribulations

Julia Glushko is currently ranked 131st in the World on the WTA circuit.  She has career earnings of $936,526.
