The Society for the Protection of Nature in cooperation with the Education Department of Modiin Maccabim Reut, launched the “child-nature-city” competition, as part of the city’s “Nature Week.” This is the third year of the competition and all children in the city from grades one through 12 are invited to go out and take pictures of the special connection of nature with the city. The chosen pictures will be displayed so that residents can vote for their favorite on the Iriyah’s website.
The three pictures to receive the most votes will get prizes. The top winner will also win a guided tour for himself and his entire class at one of the nature sites in Modiin. The competition was very successful in previous years with more than a hundred pictures submitted and thousands of residents voting for the winner. The winners of last year's competition were: in the elementary school category, Shira Ramati, a sixth grade student at Yachad and the winner of the high school category was Yair Atiya, an eighth grade student at AMIT Boys’ High School.
