The teen volunteer fair takes place every year after the chagim. Around 2,000 tenth-grade students and more than 40 organizations are expected to participate in the fair on Friday, October 19. Students will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of volunteer organizations and different projects that include teen volunteers. The students will be able to research their options in order to choose a meaningful volunteer experience during the school year. There are opportunities to volunteer with preschool children, people with special needs, senior citizens or assistance and rescue.
In addition, there will be new volunteer opportunities this year, such as "Connecting to Sport," a project in which youth will volunteer in community sports events and will receive various sports training programs such as judging; training and volunteering as speakers and reporters for coverage of community and municipal events (in addition to professional positions and not as a substitute for manpower); assistance to families coping with cancer; "Brothers in the Center," a social group for siblings of children with special needs; the "Tnuat Sachkanim" pilot program, the new youth movement of the police, and more.
As part of the fair, the students will also participate in Guy Ben Dor's fascinating lecture, "Need a Runner with a Soul", about accompaniment, integration and acceptance of the other.
The fair will take place outside Heichal Hatarbut on Friday, October 19, beginning at 9:00.
