The city’s Education Department has published a questionnaire for future residents of Nofim to help prepare for registration for the upcoming school year. The questionnaire will help the Education Department make the appropriate arrangements for next year according to the demographics of the new neighborhood. Around 130 families have filled in the questionnaire which was distributed at the end of November. All residents of Nofim are asked to fill out a personal questionnaire with questions about their children, such as: child’s age, type of school (mamlachti or mamlachti dati) and if you have a child with special needs. The Iriyah explained that the questionnaire is necessary for the city to understand the needs of the residents that are moving into the neighborhood so that the schools can accommodate them. The form is available on the Iriyah’s website.

Construction of the elementary school on Rechov Ya’ar Hazeroa in Nofim is underway. The school, which will be mamlachti with preschools next door, will have 18 classrooms, a gym, sport field, technology room, library, resource rooms and activity yard. Four new preschools will be built next to the school building. Construction of a religious elementary school will begin shortly and there are also plans for a mamlachti high school with 42 classes. The school will operate according to a future-oriented pedagogy and in this sense will be a different and innovative school in the city, compatible with the physical structure and the method of learning and teaching, to the challenges of the 21st century.

The Nofim neighborhood is being built in the western part of the city and includes around 1,850 apartments. The neighborhood, which is being built on 955 dunams will also include a 9,500 meter commercial area, public building and green areas overlooking Park Anabe. It will be connected to nearby neighborhoods via bridges and underpasses.
