Last Wednesday, Minister of Education, Naftali Bennett, presented Modiin Maccabim Reut with the National Education Prize for the 2015-16 school year. Mayor Haim Bibas and the head of the Education Administration, Batya Shochen-Orbach accepted the prize on behalf of the city. Five cities were awarded the prize for their excellence in unique activities including programs to promote personal and social involvement, personal growth and promoting tolerance and inclusion. The other cities to receive the price were Acre, Kiryat Motzkin, Hevel Binyamin and Be'er Tuvia. Among the things examined by the prize committee (headed by Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Education, Gila Nagar), which visited the city a few months ago, was the advancement of preschool education, advanced education in science and technology with an emphasis on math and the promotion of learning, professional education, academic achievements, self-realization and excellence.
