The Modiin Municipality has announced that it will be participating in the local authorities' one-day warning strike this coming Tuesday (after the holiday), on behalf of the Local Government Center. Those taking part in the strike plan to demand increased budgets for services for residents. The school system is currently not included in the strike, but this is subject to change.
The Local Government Center has said that the action is in protest of the lack of balance in the government's budgets. During that day, municipal reception services will not be open, garbage will not be collected and the urban gardening services will not run. The municipality has reported that despite the fact that Modiin does not suffer from unbalanced budgets, it is participating as a city that identifies with the other authorities that are experiencing difficulties.
