Due to the fact that the number of urban superintendents grew last year, and the fact that they are currently more active than ever, the the urban superintendents' old uniforms were recently replaced. For those who are not yet aware, the department exists to keep the city clean and free of danger. Each new superintendent underwent underwent enrichment courses on a wide variety of subjects related to their field.
The department has been very successful at catching litterers and contractors dumping construction waste, supervising public open spaces, and putting a stop to troublesome smokers and fire hazards, particularly at Anabe Park. During the summer, the urban superintendents worked 24 hours a day and in cooperation with the city's security officials, fighting vandalism. As a result, statistics show that the number of cases of vandalism in the city did indeed go down.
The municipality once again reminds residents that if they witness an offence in the city, then they are invited to call the Municipal Center at 106 from any land-line in the city or (08)972-6020 from any cellphone.
