Around 100 parents participated in a recent training session for volunteers of the “parents patrol”, with Ori Gedes Ilani, a social worker who deals with families and adolescents. Every Friday, volunteers of the parents patrol go out to parks around the city to meet with the city’s youth, to talk to them and be there for them. The training session dealt with the nature of the patrols and how to talk to the teenagers as well as an analysis of the type of situations the parents encounter and how they can leverage their interactions into meaningful conversations. In addition, the volunteers used the training session to think together on ways to improve the techniques used during the parents patrol. The parents patrol has opened a new facebook page, "סיירת הורים מודיעין", where they will post updates and parents can volunteer with the parents patrol.
