Over the past few years, community gardens have been opened in the city including one in the Prachim neighborhood and the ecological orchard in Cramim. The benefit of the community garden is the opportunity to work together in partnership with other residents. The work is done by various volunteers, where friendships grow along with the crops.
The Iriyah in partnership with the Society for Protection of Nature and the Office of Agriculture have organized a community garden in the Shevatim neighborhood. The garden will be planted and maintained by the community to advance the quality of life and of the environment in the city. In order to help the project succeed, the Iriyah will provide professional guidance, a plot of land for the garden and a water source for irrigation. Residents who are interested in participating in planting the community garden are invited to an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 12 at 17:00 at the corner of Rechov Yisaachar and Reuven.
