Infrastructure work on Sederot HaChashmonaim begins Sunday, July 16 and is expected to last about a month. The road between Rechov Haim Bar Lev and the Transportation Roundabout in both directions will be repaired and repaved in order to upgrade the infrastructure and transportation in the city.

The road will be closed Sundays – Thursdays, 8:30 – 19:00 and reopened every day after work is completed. The bypass road will be opened in both directions all the time. The work will be done in stages, with the first stage lasting about two weeks and the road heading south between Haim Bar Lev and Emek Zevulun will be closed. Cars can travel on Yigal Yadin or Moshe Dayan. The road between Emek Zevulun north and Emek Zevulun south (until the transportation roundabout) will be blocked off for an additional week.

The second stage of work, which will last two weeks, the road heading north will be closed from the Transportation Roundabout until Rechov Arar. Cars can travel on HaRakevet or Arar Streets. When the road between Arar and Haim Bar Lev is closed then cars can travel on Ficus and Tiltan or Arar to Emek Zevulun and Yigal Yadin.

There will be changes to the bus routes while the work is being done. During the first stages, the bus stop on HaChashmonaim heading south (bus stop #35046) will move to Emek Zevulun south next to Caffit and Anabe Bar (to bus stop #34128), so bus lines 2, 3, 4, 117 and 154 will be travelling a different route. The inter-city bus lines 101, 106, 107, 110, 111, 112, 150, 152, 201 and 202 will change routes and will not stop at the bus stop on HaChashmonaim/Emek Zevulun (bus stop # 35046). During construction hours, the bus will turn left from Rechov Arar onto HaRakevet and go around the Transportation Roundabout. Each day after 19:00, once work has been completed, the bus stop and bus routes will return to normal. Updates available on the Kaviim website or call center *8787.
