"No Violence" Initiative

In the framework of the "No Violence" initiative in Modiin, the city has installed security cameras at four locations in the city, which will be watched 24/7 via the Modiin Moked Ironi.

The first area is Park Anabe, which has four cameras installed, to protect against vandalism to public property.
The second area is the Reut Water Park parking lot, and the nearby lawn, with four cameras.
The third is near Mor, near the old pirate ship, with two cameras.
The fourth area is at Country Center and the around it, with two cameras.

These locations were chosen because of the many instances of vandalism and noise which were reported there.
The city plans to place cameras in 8-10 more locations in Modiin by the end of 2012.
There are also cameras at six of the local Modiin schools, which are turned on at night.

Local police and volunteers also went through a training course specially tailored towards the "no violence" initiative in Modiin.
The focus was on cooperation between the different bodies (police, volunteers, etc.) when dealing with teens in the parks over the summer.
Counselors in youth movements and activities, including "Cafe Bavadi", "Zula Nayedet", "Kidum Noar", and youth clubs throughout the city, will undergo special training related to teens.
They will learn about high-risk teens, creating positive connections with them, and reporting issues when necessary.
