Spring Arrives In Modiin
The beautiful shkediot (almond trees) are in full blossom, as seen in this photo from the recent biblical tour of Neot Kedumim. Flowers are everywhere, and we can enjoy the gift of living in the fertile Modiin area. This is the perfect time for hikes and trips.
New Olim Prepare for Tu Be'Shvat
A group of new olim planted trees and plants in honor of the upcoming holiday in Park Anabe in early January.
The event was organized by the city of Modiin, in the beautiful Anabe area, with many eager participants marking their new home in Israel by planting trees. We wish them luck on their journey as olim!
Bar Mitzvah Project
Another round of bar mitzvah boys graduated from the city of Modiin's bar mitzvah program. They boys spent the day in Jerusalem, visited the Kotel, and had a festive meal together to honor the occasion.

Modiin Welcomes its Ten New Families from New York
Last Wednesday, the Absorption Department team at the municipality received the new immigrants that landed at Ben Gurion airport on a direct flight from New York. This flight was the last of five Nefesh B'Nefesh planes carrying dozens of new immigrant families, ten who have chosen to live in Modiin Maccabim Reut.

The celebration hall was packed with around 200 dressed-up adults and children, who carried eye-catching signs, whistles, and Israeli flags in order to greet the newcomers. Excitement ran high as the flight's landing was broadcasted on a huge screen, on which the attendees watched the new immigrants leave the plane and kiss the Israeli soil.

After their moment of arrival, the Olim joined Bnei Akiva scouts in dancing in two circles with Torah scrolls, flags, and whistles. The air was filled with happiness and electricity, and the immigrants smiled and enjoyed their uplifting, accepting, and loving surrounding.

When the festivities were over, the entire group entered the greeting hall, where the official ceremony began. Rabbi Pas, the head of Nefesh B'Nefesh, rose to the stage first to greet the 250 American immigrants -- 103 of whom were children. He was followed by Minister Silvan Shalom, Ayal Gabai from the prime minister's office, MK Yoel Hason, and El Al CEO Eliezer Shakedi. The ceremony was brought to a close with the entire crowd -- guests and Olim Chadashim alike -- rising to their feet to sink Hatikva together.
