Spring Arrives In Modiin
The beautiful shkediot (almond trees) are in full blossom, as seen in this photo from the recent biblical tour of Neot Kedumim. Flowers are everywhere, and we can enjoy the gift of living in the fertile Modiin area. This is the perfect time for hikes and trips.
New Olim Prepare for Tu Be'Shvat
A group of new olim planted trees and plants in honor of the upcoming holiday in Park Anabe in early January.
The event was organized by the city of Modiin, in the beautiful Anabe area, with many eager participants marking their new home in Israel by planting trees. We wish them luck on their journey as olim!

250+ City Residents March for Gilad Shalit
More than 250 Modiin Maccabim Reut residents, most of whom were teenagers, joined the massive march for the release of Gilad Shalit and in order to show support to this family members. The organized group from the city was put together by the Municipal Youth Council and the Modiin Cultural Community Center Youth Unit.
The march began approximately two weeks ago at its national starting point in Mitspe Hila. When the large march reached Latrun, they were joined by hundreds of city residents who arrived on buses donated by Margalit Transportation. The residents marched from Yad LaShiryon to Sha'ar HaGay Interchange. Unlike the 7,000 participants who chose to end their march at Route 1, the Modiin Maccabim Reut residents decided to accompany the Shalits until Sha'ar HaGay Farm.

The following day, more than 50 youth from the city embarked to continue the march as it entered Jerusalem. The teenagers, who were motivated to make themselves heard and make a difference, came equipped with identical shirts, stickers, whistles, and megaphones while they marched to the main protest at Gan Ha'Atsmaut in Jerusalem.
The bus schedules and participant registration were organized weeks in advance by Hila Amdor and David Cohen from the Youth Council, who were guided by the city's Youth Coordinator, Lottem Duani.
This isn't the first time that the Youth Unit has taken the responsibility of a municipal event of this size upon itself," says Youth Council Chairperson Gal Elbaz. "The residents and the youth took an active part in the march, and represented the city with dignity."
