Spring Arrives In Modiin
The beautiful shkediot (almond trees) are in full blossom, as seen in this photo from the recent biblical tour of Neot Kedumim. Flowers are everywhere, and we can enjoy the gift of living in the fertile Modiin area. This is the perfect time for hikes and trips.

New Olim Prepare for Tu Be'Shvat
A group of new olim planted trees and plants in honor of the upcoming holiday in Park Anabe in early January.

The event was organized by the city of Modiin, in the beautiful Anabe area, with many eager participants marking their new home in Israel by planting trees. We wish them luck on their journey as olim!

Bar Mitzvah Project
Another round of bar mitzvah boys graduated from the city of Modiin's bar mitzvah program. They boys spent the day in Jerusalem, visited the Kotel, and had a festive meal together to honor the occasion.

2008 Modiin Population Census Data

Last week, the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) published the 2008 population census data, which included a number of statistics about Modiin Maccabim Reut accurate until December 27, 2008.

The Modiin Maccabim Reut population was counted at the relevant date at 69,300 residents. 18,400 of these residents are part of households; the average household consisted of 3.8 persons.
A total of 29,900 city residents were ages 0-19 (43.1%)
44.1% of the city's residents ages 15 and up held a BA or higher – the highest percentage in the country.
79.7% of the city's residents were homeowners; 18.5% reside in rented homes.
35.4% of the apartments in the city had four rooms; 31.8% had five rooms.
92% of the city's households hadat least one car; 50.8% had at least two rooms.
95.7% of the city's residents owned personal computers.
The average city number of cellphones stood at 2.9 cellphones per household.
74.3% of the city residents were employed at the relevant time. 17.9% worked in real estate, renting, and business services; 13.2% worked in education, and 10.3% worked in various fields of trade. 72.1% percent of all employees worked outside of Modiin.
The average age of marriage was 24 for females and 26 for males.

26.6% of the city's adult residents older than 15 years of age had moved to the city between 2003-2008.
