The “child-nature-city” photo competition sponsored by the Society for Protection of Nature in Israel and the city’s Education Department, has come to an end. The winner in the elementary school category is Shira Ramati, a sixth grade student at Yachad. The winner of the high school category is Yair Atiya, an eighth grade student at AMIT Boys’ High School. The winners of the competition won a trip for their entire class. There will be a ceremony with Mayor Haim Bibas with the participants whose pictures were chosen for the finals.
Hundreds of pictures were submitted for the competition with 10 chosen for the final voting in each category. The chosen pictures were displayed in Beit Yad Lebanim for the 10 days of voting on the Iriiyah website. The competition deals with urban nature photography and aims to strengthen the connection between the children and the nature surrounding them and increase awareness of what is happening around them by increasing their ability to observe, curiosity and wonder.
