Last week, the Community Department of Amutat Sachlavim and volunteers from the city celebrated the opening of a new community club – Barkanit. The club will be open to the public on Tuesday afternoons and will provide residents with a free recreational space for parents and children. Dozens of parents and children came to the opening event last Tuesday where they could participate in different activities including Tu B’Shevat activities, games, face painting, story hour and board games.
The new club will be opened on Tuesday between 16:30 and 18:30 at 26 Rechov Hacharzit (the old Gan Barkan building) where parents and children can enjoy a variety of activities for different ages. The idea of opening the club was initiated by volunteer residents and members of a community activist’s course in the city’s neighborhoods. They, together with their families, and with the assistance and support of the Community Department, will operate the club and organize activities. The Community Department invites residents of the city who wish to participate in the activities or to volunteer to run activities, to enjoy the new club that will be open free of charge to the general public.
