Work on one of the city’s main attractions began on Tuesday when Mayor Haim Bibas laid the cornerstone for the sport and water park in the Technology Park, near the soccer field. Mayor Bibas said: The water park will be an important part of the city's life and will serve as an enjoyable and refreshing attraction for children, youth and families, all very close to home and at reasonable prices.
The sport and water park is being built at a cost of 60 million shekels and will include a sports center, a half Olympic-size pool, experiential surfing facility, wave pool that simulates a rippling sea, a toddler pool, studios, gym and a café. The highlight of the park will be a complex of water attractions for children and youth including water slides and other facilities. Work is expected to take around two years.
