The Iriyah has a variety of Chanukah events and activities for residents of all ages.
December 6 at 10:00: the opening event will be an inter-generational Chanukah party with older residents and students form the Amit School at Beit Sachlavim.
December 12-13: “Batim Madlikim” – residents open their homes for candle lighting and Chanukah activities. Sixteen houses in the city will participate this year. The list is available on the Amutat Sachlavim website. Advance registration required.
December 13: Mifgash and the Association for the Elderly candle lighting at the Mifgash HaElla at 19:30. Singer Aharon Parara will perform. Tickets cost 30 NIS, space is limited. To order tickets, call 08-6349358.
December 14: Chanukah Jam for teens at the “Red Roof.” Teens in grades seven through twelve are invited to an evening of rap bands from Moadon Jack. There will be candle lighting and jelly donuts. The fun begins at 20:00.
December 15: There will be a special happening for the whole family at the Chashmonaim Shul. There will be workshops, activities and a show for the children. The event will take place 10:00-14:00, entrance is free.
December 15: Annual Chanukah tribute event for soldiers and national service volunteers at the Einan Hall in the Azrieli Mall at 13:00. Singer, Rotem Cohen will perform. Entrance is free for residents of Modiin Maccabim Reut upon presenting teudat zehut and proof of service.
December 16: Stand-up performance by Chen Mizrachi at 19:30 in the auditorium at Heichal Hatarbut. Tickets cost 35 NIS and tickets will not be sold the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Youth Club at 74 Begin.
December 20: Modiin Heritage Conference at the Einan Hall in the Azrieli Mall. The conference deals with the research in the fields of geography, history and archeology of the Hasmonean period and the Modiin area and is named for Professor Yair Pereg z”l.
