Bowling Banter:

The Modiin Monday Night Bowling Club is winding down its second season of action on the lanes. A total of nine bowlers participated this season and knocked down a total of 31,374 pins in 254 games for a league average of 123.52. Two bowlers rolled games over 200, and the high series for the season was 153.52 by Yonah Kops. One session remains this season-- May 22.  Newcomers are welcome and the games begin at 20:30.

Youth Bowling Star in Modi'in:

Eyal Damari is 17.5 years old. He began bowling when he was a youngster and has been bowling in leagues for several years. Three months ago, he finished in 23rd place out of 80 bowlers in the Magen Tournament in Gan Shmuel, and he earned 500 NIS for the event. Last month, Eyal competed in the European Youth Championships in Helsinki, Finland. He averaged 177, with a high score of 210, and finished in 68th place out of 98 bowlers. Eyal recently finished in 10th place out of 27 bowlers in the Israel Singles Championships in Gan Shmuel, where he had a high score of 215 and a 187 average. In a practice game, Eyal pounded the pins with a barrage of strikes, rolling a personal-best score of 266.

Soccer Sensation:

Ben Sahar won his second league championship in a row this season with Hapoel Beer Sheva. He netted 13 goals in league action and 1 goal in European competition in the 2016-17 season.

Tennis Tribulations:

Julia Glushko is ranked in 234th place in the World on the WTA circuit. She has an 8-10 won-loss record in singles and a 9-6 record in doubles thus far this year, and she has earned $19,710 through the first week of May.
