Twenty female 11th grade students from high schools in Modiin Maccabim Reut were chosen to participate in the prestigious “engineers of the future” project. The project is a national initiative by Israel Aerospace Industries, Yediot Achronot and Ynet to find the next generation of Israeli innovators. The purpose of the program is to cultivate the next generation of leading scientists so that they can fill significant positions in industry and academia in the future and retain Israel’s international standing as a hi-tech and technology power. This year, the young “engineers of the future” will develop ideas based on the technological and security successes over the 70 years of the country's existence together with IAI's senior engineers in management and research.
The program is for 11th grade female students across the country who excel at five points math and engineering. Twenty of the 100 girls chosen for the project are from the following Modiin high schools: Ironi Gimmel, Ironi Bet, MOR, Ironi Aleph, Ironi Dalet and the Ulpana. Last year, 15 girls from the city participated in the project and two years ago, nine girls from the city participated.
